Every one of us has different interests; we make up a sort of a pot of cultures, experiences and expectations. The girls are most of all beautiful. They are great cooks, dancers, they write good articles and poetry, they can fight our demons. They are simply great and we would all give our lives for them. That’s what we have in common – loyalty.
Guys, like big boys, must have their toys. One is forever running with a candid camera and peeps at human lives. He’s writing a book on the impact of globalization and the Internet on the awareness of an individual. It might turn into a PhD work yet. That’s why he came to Ireland in the first place. A separate piece is going to be on why the Irish don’t give a shit about it all.
Another one of us is a teaser. He tries to irritate people and checks their reactions. He claims that people show their real personalities through their emotions. They demonstrate their roots and lose their conventions. It’s him who started the saying "Although I know everything about you, I still want to talk you". He’s a great friend.
There’s another one. He thinks all that surrounds us is MAYA. It’s all theatre. Religion, politics, Gaelic football or golf, these are all topics discussed in order to divert our attention from all those more important things. It all enslaves us and transforms us into little eating-shitting monsters for generating energy that someone else will be using. Out of us all, it’s him who managed to understand the mthods of manipulation. He knows how to get through to the other side of the mirror. Before you get to know him, he will know you.
There’s also the chess player. He takes parts in international tournaments. The perfect brain. In order for others to equal him or perhaps have the slightest chance to do so, he lies on a couch in another room watching telly while our team sweats over the chess board. Once, we even managed to get a draw.
There’s one more. He’s our leader. He inspires us. He lives outside the laws of physics. He can see the past and the future like we see the present. He shows us the true sense of existence. It’s no joke. He’s proved to us that we can understand only so much. If we decide to go for more and more, we might go crazy. He’s making sure we kep our balance. Everything has its right time.
We’re all old souls. We’ve been through it all many a time. This is one of the last trips. Perhaps even the last one. Don’t be surprised that we’re not excited by tackiness, shitty books and stupid ideas.
We travel all over Ireland. We explore its every nook and crannie. We’ve been to many places more than once. We do 30,000 kilometres a year to discover this corner of the world, so full of mystery and wonderful history.
We love jazz, blues, clubbing, good old hard rock, Irish music, folk, even classical. We also enjoy good restaurant service; Chinese, Indian, Mexican, Mediterranean, Arabian (especially Syrian) cuisines, French wine and cheeses, Polish vodka and sausage, Russian dumplings, Greek fish, Jewish carp, Hungarian stew and Bavarian pork knuckle.
